Zvezda 8046 Vikings Part 2

After Part 1 it's time for Part 2. This time I've painted one figure of each pose. I bought this figures as a bargain. The seller told me it were 3 complete sets, but not on the sprues. I could have them for the price of one set. But when I started painting these guys, I realized that there was missing one pose. One of the archers wasn't in the box. I placed a litle message on Benno's Figures Forum that I was searching for that figure. And Gunnar from Gataskog sended me one. Thanks for that mate!

I've painted them with black and white, and some brown colors. I wanted them to look very dark, so they would be more suiteble for a fantasy dio (not right now!). And I love the black and white with a little bit of silver on the shields very much. Shading on the shields is Vallejo Grey Wash.

Just have a look at the pictures, and enjoy them!

Archers. The one on the left calls Gunnar!

I hope you like them!

Caesar H058 Modern US Elite Force

What you're seeing here is a test. I've painted this figure because someone asked me to do a modern vignette/diorama. It's supposed to be a figure for the Iraq war. The only thing is, I'm not sure if I used the right colors and camo scheme.

So I could use some advice, comments, critic, or whatever to know if I did the right thing on this figure. A review of the set can be seen here. I also would like to thank Paul from Paul's Bods for his help finding a picture of the uniform (uniform picture can be seen here). Thanks mate! I hope I copied it well?

Colours used (Revel = R; Games Workshop = GW):
- R05 White
- GW23 Elf Flesh
- GW Ogryn Flesh Wash
- GW Kommando Khaki
- R85 Brown
- R06 Tar Black
- R87 Earth Brown
- GW Gryphonne Sepia Wash

Hat 8073 Russian Light Infantry - Based

Not really something new now, but I just wanted to show you what I did with this set. I was looking for a way to store all the loose figures I paint, so I decided to base them. They are not ment for wargaming but it looked nice this way.

I used MDF 4 mm from 3 x 6 cm. To cover the ground I made a mixture of woodfiller and sand. Painted with dark brown and the grass is from Games Workshop.

As you can see on the pictures I made a mistake. You can still see some of the bases, so I need to fix that a little bit. The sides of the bases are painted green as I will do for all the Napoleonic figures I will paint of that period. I've also painted four more figures.

Comments and advice for the next bunch are welcome.

The unbased figures can be seen here.
