Liebster Blog Award

I’ve been nominated three times for this award.

The first one was Vincent, better known as Captain Lol of  http://figurinepassion.blogspot.be/. My Belgian friend is a fantastic painter of figure busts. Have a visit at his blog and be amazed!

The second one was from my good friend Sander from http://modusregmagnimomenti.blogspot.be/. He’s specialised in war gaming with Napoleonic figures. But he paint other periods to, like for example the Colonial one. Have a visit at his blog and be amazed!

The third one is from my Greek friend Thanos from http://miniaturesterrainpage.blogspot.be/. He’s building a big British army, with figures and vehicles. Have a visit at his blog and be amazed!

"The rules:

- "Copy and paste" the award on your blog, and talk about it a bit.

- Select for the award your five favourite blogs with less than 200 followers, leaving a comment on one of their post to notify them that they have won the award. You need also to list them in your own blog.

- Enjoy the moment, knowing that you have just made someone's day.

- Of course, there is no obligation to pass the award, but it is a good deed really."

So let’s have a look at the blogs I’ve nominated. I’ve made the choice to pick five blogs who weren’t nominated yet:

The first one is from my good friends of the Netherlands, Remco, http://sjemco.blogspot.be/. The odd thing with him is that he only post one figure a month. But the figures he paints are rare. Conversions, but also a beautiful range of Asterix figures. Have a look at his blog and be amazed!

The second one is a good friend from Belgium. Danny from http://dioramanet.blogspot.com/. He makes lovely WW2 vignettes with a very good eye for details. Have a look at his blog and be amazed!

The third one is Matt from http://airfixacwproject.blogspot.be/. He’s rebuilding the American Civil War with Airfix figures. He’s using original ones and making conversions, by painting or for example French Foreign Legion figures from Airfix. Have a visit at his blog and be amazed!

The fourth blog is that one of Jen and Ben from http://vswargame.blogspot.be/. This couple paints fantastic figures, mostly in 28 mm and 1/72 scale. Now they’re starting a project, painting the seven samurai’s of the well known movie. Beautiful sculpted figures. Have a visit at their blog and be amazed!

The fifth blog is one from Canada. He’s from Chasseur and he has a blog called http://forhonourssake.blogspot.be/. And like he says it’s dedicated to Solo war gaming, naval, Colonial,1812, and other imaginary aspects of war gaming. Have a visit at his blog and be amazed!

Pity we can only pick five of them, because there are so many good blogs. But with visiting them and give comments on their blogs we don’t forget them.

I have a few new followers, but I will give them a proper welcome in my next post!

Valdemar Discussion Part 1

This is part one of a figure set that was sended to me by my good friend Alex from Russia as a birthday gift. Thank you again Alex! There was more in that package but that's for another post. The set contains 10 figures and are sculpted very good. You can buy them at the shop of Fredericus-Rex.

Here you can see the first 5 figures I've painted. The other ones are still in progress.

My favorite figure!
Tijl Uylenspiegel!
A Flemish figure!

Painted him as a Fransiskaner!

With this one something
went wrong.
I'll check on him later.

I hope you like them!

Wolsung Lord James Fouley Finished

I managed to get him finished on time. And while I'm writing these words he's on his way to a new home. As I said in the beginning of this project, it wasn't easy for me to paint him. And the most problems I had was with the bird on his arm. Finally I painted that one with about eight colours I think.

Well I hope you all like the final result!

Belts an other things painted with
GW Shining Gold

White parts painted with Revell White

The bird painted with:
GW Blazing Orange
Vallejo Red Wash
GW Sunburst Yellow
GW Fiery Orange
GW Blood Red
GW Enchanted Blue
GW Ice Blue
GW Camo Green

The final result!

I hope you like him!

Wolsung Lord James Fouley WIP 1

Here are the first pictures of this challenge for me. As I thought it is very hard for me to paint this figure. But I have learned something. Whatever the size is paint in your own style. I've tried something else but it didn't work. What? The face on this one didn't came out as I wanted and I repainted it. The only thing I added was that I've painted the eye.

But have a look at the pictures, and then you can make your own opinion.

Enjoy the pictures!

The first mistake I made is not buying a base for this figure!
I thought it would be in the package!

I use some woodfiller to keep it on the base.
I will remove it when the figure is ready.

Two layers of Revell White as basecoat.

Flesh parts done with GW Elf Flesh and Vallejo wash.
The eye is painted with GW Bleached Bone and Black.

The hair s done with GW Vomit Brown.
Drybrushed with GW Golden Yellow and Revell White.

I hope you like him!
